In Latvian mythology, Thunder is the principal sky deity, and the Thunder Cross is among the oldest known traditional signs found in Latvia.
When the branches of the Fire Cross turn to the right, the symbol is associated with the rising sun, day, life, and masculine beginnings — representing growth and development.
When the branches turn to the left, it is connected to the setting sun, night, seasonal transition, and feminine beginnings — symbolizing balance and the natural cycle of renewal.
