Traditional Latvian Belt witj Jumis sign

The Jumis symbol is an ancient Latvian sign representing fertility, prosperity, and the harmony of dual forces. In folklore, it embodies the blessing of abundance- two joined grains growing as one. Traditionally woven into belts and textiles, it served as a protective emblem inviting good harvests, household well-being, and the flourishing of life in all its forms.

The artist is inspired by traditional Latvian and historical symbols and fell in love with weaving long ago. Fifteen years ago, her father built wooden looms by hand so she could weave from home as well. All of her pieces are woven from wool and linen.
